Our story in Street Fighter was a much told tale. I had actually started on a story that took place in the Caribbean islands and had Chun-Li, Guile, Gouken and Dhalsim there when they discovered a training academy and Lotoon headmaster, Makoto Sawada (Gouken's long time rival). Finally we got to the Street Fighter party. The battle for the secret weapon, the satellite learning machines of the learning Pit that taught the powers of Akuma, Dhalsim, Gouken, Ryu etc to the world live in a space station that was attacked by the forces of evil.
This story, the first half of Street Fighter, was told in the Street Fighter EX Plus Ultra manga by Kazunori Takubo and Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. In the manga, the various Chun-Li's in the story reside in her own home in the country and training for the ultimate fighting championship. This is a totally different world and the story is actually a side story that happens during the Street Fighter adventure
The second half of the story told in the movie was to finish of Chun-Li's father, Heat Mardoni (ex-secret agent and responsible for the laser weapon that destroyed the Pit) who was kidnapped by the agent who shot and wounded Ryu, Gout Samurai (Sagat), who had captured Heat seeking revenge. This was not part of the manga story in which this event never happened.
The second half of the reunited Street Fighter movie tells a story that was pretty much already in the manga by the time the Street Fighter EX Plus Ultra was published. In that story I briefly mentioned the super agent Maki, (Cesar the eyes of the enemy agent) and his new attack team, Ledger and the hero Chun-Li. This was left unopened when the Street Fighter game was released. d2c66b5586
