Overall, its a fun adventure, with a lot of flaws, but you don't need to read the manga to enjoy the anime. I have read the manga, and I read it in English, so its a bit of a mess of details. If you want to read the manga as English though, it is easy to find. In fact, I get the feeling that alot of people really enjoy the manga. I would like to readthe manga at some point.
I only know One Piece from the first half. But I've been hearing about it for years.I mainly try and watch the anime. I read the manga when I can, but it doesn't really have an ending. As some people have said, its easy to jump to the characters I enjoy, and I wont really want to go back and read the early chapters. I also tried reading the manga, but it was just too much. I wont go back to reading it and try to find the parts I enjoyed or didn't.
I really don't care for the character designs. I kind of like the color and the style, but I feel the character look boring. They look a bit like real life, like some manga about teenagers. I dont like that.
That's what I've been doing for a long time. Comic books arevery childish. Then I found a manga like Eureka Seven, they arekinda like superhero comics that are also very childish. And thenI found One Piece, which is the manga version of Dragonball Z.
Oh, I forgot to say that I love Dragonball Z. I have every episode ofthe series, I have even seen the movie. I love Naruto (even though I didn'tlike the beginning of it) and I have watched the series and even readthe manga. I have seen all the Dragonball movies and I think that theyare great movies.
I agree! Well I think that this manga gets the most maturethings about 20 years old, or later. They are the popular post-Itspeak period, the one that was around the time when the popular animeappeared. I read the manga first, and then watched the anime, whichbrought up many of the same issues. They really are a great match ofmanga and anime, that's why I have both copies. On the other hand,I haven't seen or read any of the other manga, so I just don't knowif it really is mature in that way.
One Piece is a good manga that does have a lot of issues. I liken it to Dragonball Z (I know, I know, so what?) Ultimate Muscle (Or something like that) wasbeyond sickening for me. Like the plot of Dragonball, One Piece started as a kid's manga. Its a great manga, but its grown up. I liken it to Dragonball Z, for example. The manga started out very light hearted. It was a kid's manga. Then it got to the fight with Vegito. I had never really thought about how old Goku was before. He was just a kid. Then he becomes an adult. Now Gohan is an adult. So is Vegeta, Goten, Trunks and Gotenks. You get the drift.
One Piece was a classic manga. People are not used to what it hasbecome. Its not immature anymore. Its developed. Anyone who readsOne Piece and expects it to be a kid's manga and isnt ready forit to mature, is going to be disappointed. Its the same way they arewith Dragonball Z. 827ec27edc
